Hello everyone, my name is Dmack Masterice, and I am an interview editor for an underground magazine (I actually interviewed Nefarious!) and a local super hero at night. I reside in Boston, MA and the homie Nefarious! was gracious enough to let me post on The Soul Dojo. What you will get from me is preservation of good hip-hop music, along with some soul tracks.

For my first post on The Soul Dojo, I wanted to post a video of one of my favorite neo-soul groups, The Foreign Exchange, doing what they do best: providing that music for soul. It’s actually a comedic video too, as they are poking fun at how stupid the mainstream music can be. Phonte singing Soulja Boy, doing the stanky leg, AND then topping it off by covering Trey Songz? If you ask me, it doesn’t get much better.

This is one of the many posts I have coming for you guys (and girls) this week.

I’m sure you’ve seen the various posts about the new writers here at The Soul Dojo and I’m glad to say that I’m one of them. My name is Erik and I’ve been blogging for over two years. With that experience, you can trust that I know a bit about what I do.

Let’s shift the focus towards this video from David Banner. He and 9th Wonder plan to release the Death Of A Pop Star album as a duo and “Slow Down” is one of its tracks.

Featuring R&B chanteuse, Heather Victoria, who also doubles as David Banner’s leading lady in the video – who just so happens to get kidnapped, leading David Banner and sidekick 9th Wonder through a maze of unforeseen twists and unexpected turns. “At some point the artist shall be held accountable to his or her self,” says David Banner. “This is me understanding that and doing something about it.” Fitting in with that theme, David Banner is aided throughout the video by a special pair of sunglasses, allowing the rapper to a glimpse into the dark underworld of the kidnappers he’s chasing.
