A question I get a lot is how to use your Mbox for sound outside of ProTools (to play music on iTunes, on the internet, etc). I too was confused because I assumed it would work universally with applications installed on my computer. I own a Mbox 2 running on Windows XP and for that to work you must download the DigiMMEHelper.
Installation Instructions:
- Extract the contents of the .zip file
- Install the Setup.exe
- Run the “Digi MME Helper”
- Add more programs to the list that will work with it (if not already present).
- Click update
- Enjoy
